The Ember Red Light Therapy Panel for Sauna is purpose-built to run inside a hot, humid sauna. With a sealed IP65-rated housing, an aluminum body, a 4-in-1 lens over every LED, and a 194°F max operating temperature, it’s engineered to survive the conditions that ruin a standard red light panel — and bring full-spectrum red and near-infrared therapy directly into your sauna sessions.
384 medical-grade LEDs, four clinically relevant wavelengths, and 175 mW/cm² peak irradiance in a compact 20.1″ × 12″ × 2.2″ footprint (15.4 lbs) designed for personal saunas, corner installs, and dedicated wellness rooms.
Why a Sauna-Safe Panel Is Different
Standard red light therapy panels are not built for sauna environments. Heat, steam, and humidity destroy non-sealed electronics, melt plastic housings, and corrode connections. Most home panels are rated for ambient room temperatures only — running them in a sauna voids the warranty and risks failure.
The Hooga Ember is engineered for sauna use from the ground up:
- IP65 sealed housing — dust-tight and protected against water jets, the industry-standard rating for wet-environment electronics
- Aluminum housing — no plastic to warp or off-gas in heat
- IP65-rated internal driver — sealed power supply inside the panel, not a separate brick that can’t take the heat
- 194°F (90°C) maximum operating temperature — covers the full range of traditional and infrared saunas
- Internal cooling fan with automatic thermal shutdown above 90°C and auto-restart below 60°C — all settings stored in memory
- FCC, CE, and RoHS certified
Independent Wavelength Control
Unlike single-button panels, the Ember gives you separate controls for each of the four wavelengths. Run red only (630/660 nm) for skin-focused sessions, near-infrared only (810/850 nm) for deeper-tissue exposure, or all four together for full-spectrum coverage. Combine with the brightness, timer, and pulse settings to tailor every session.
Where It Fits
- Personal infrared and traditional saunas — hang it, wall-mount it, or set it on the floor stand inside the cabin.
- Wellness rooms and recovery suites — pairs with sauna sessions for combined heat + light protocols
- Smaller spaces where the larger Blaze won’t fit but you still want full-spectrum therapy.
- Secondary panel pairing with an existing Blaze for wider coverage in larger cabins
Three Ways to Mount It
Every panel ships with everything you need to hang or wall-mount it. The floor stand is the only mounting option sold separately.
- Hang it — the included hanging cable and pulley suspend the panel from the sauna ceiling.
- Wall-mount it — the included mounting hardware fixes the panel to a sauna wall for a permanent install.
- Stand it on the floor — the Sauna Series Floor Stand is a rolling iron base with two upright brackets that hold the panel upright. No tools, no drilling, and locking caster wheels so you can roll it into position, lock it in place, and move it aside afterward (sold separately).
How to Use
- Mount the panel securely inside your sauna using the included hanging kit, or set it on the Sauna Series Floor Stand for a free-standing setup with no drilling (sold separately).
- Plug into a properly rated outlet outside the sauna or into a sauna-rated electrical run.
- Power on, set the timer (1–20 minutes), select wavelengths, adjust brightness, and optionally engage pulse mode.
- Run your sauna session as normal. The panel operates safely up to 194°F.
- Let the panel cool with the sauna before powering off the supply.

Benefits
Why Red Light in a Sauna?
Traditional and infrared saunas deliver heat. Red light therapy delivers photons at wavelengths (630 / 660 / 810 / 850 nm) that skin and deeper tissue absorb. Stacking them in a single session is popular for two reasons: convenience (one routine, two modalities) and complementary effects on circulation, relaxation, and recovery.
- Recovery routines: Layer red and near-infrared exposure on top of the heat you already use for post-workout or post-training recovery.
- Skin sessions: Red (630 / 660 nm) is commonly used on skin at 12–18 inches from the panel for surface-focused sessions.
- Deeper-tissue sessions: Near-infrared (810 / 850 nm) is commonly used at 6–12 inches for muscle and joint targeting.
- Circulation and relaxation: Both sauna heat and red / near-infrared light have been studied for effects on circulation and perceived relaxation. Combined use is popular even without specific therapeutic goals.
- Wellness rooms: The IP65 build and 194°F ceiling let the panel live permanently in the sauna, so it’s ready every time you are.
Hooga products are intended to support a wellness routine and are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease. Consult a healthcare provider before combining red light therapy with sauna use if you have any medical concerns.

Session Guidelines
- Surface treatments (skin, fine lines, acne, scars): treat from 12–18 inches away for about 5 minutes. Target dose 3–10 J/cm².
- Deeper treatments (pain, inflammation, joints, muscle soreness): treat from 6–12 inches away for about 10–20 minutes. Target dose 10–50 J/cm².
- Frequency: 3–5 sessions per week is great. You can treat daily, but no more than twice a day, spaced morning and evening.
- Channels: we recommend running red and near infrared together. Consider red only if you have melasma, which near infrared can aggravate.
- Distance: mount the panel so you can comfortably sit or stand 6–18 inches from the LEDs. Thanks to the 4-in-1 lens, falloff is gentle — you generally will not need to lengthen your session much as you step back.
- Eye protection: a pair of protective goggles is included in the box. Eye protection is not required — your eyes adjust quickly — but the goggles are worth using for longer sessions or if you find the brightness uncomfortable. Either way, don't stare directly into the LEDs.
- In the sauna: drink plenty of water before and after each session. Do not touch the metal casing while the panel is hot, and let it fully cool before removing it from its mount.
